The Brazilian National Team’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, cited Fifa and Uefa and criticized the football calendar for the EXCESS of games.

“You play a lot and poorly. Football is more analytical, intense, and fast. Fifa and Uefa should review the calendars, many games, not all of quality, many injuries,” he said to the Italian Il Giornale.

Without mentioning the Brasileirão, the journalist asked about the possibility of reducing the number of clubs in the leagues, from 20 to 18.

Currently, in addition to the Brasileirão, the Premier League, La Liga, and the Italian Serie A are the other major leagues with 20 clubs.

“It seems to me a good solution. It would avoid low-quality comparisons, which would otherwise increase, and the costs would also be more reasonable. But there needs to be an agreement between the parties, and so far that hasn’t happened,” concluded Ancelotti.

The Bundesliga and Ligue 1, for example, have 18 clubs. With this change, the German and French clubs have four fewer rounds.

And what about you, what is the ideal number of clubs for the Brasileirão? 20 or 18? Or another number? Leave your comment!
