The United States players pulled a rabbit out of the hat on Sunday at Medinah, coming from three points down to win the Presidents Cup by a four-point margin.
Despite the US team’s struggles during the foursomes and four-ball matches, they showed their superior quality during the Sunday singles.

The Americans won 9.5 points out of 12 during the singles match-ups.
Brandt Snedeker had so much more strength in depth at his disposal than Geoff Ogilvy did.
In the end, it was no surprise that the US team won the Presidents Cup, despite facing a big deficit heading into the final day at Medinah.
However, the American players still deserve huge credit for showing up and producing their best golf when it mattered most.
Brandel Chamblee’s verdict on US Presidents Cup performance on Sunday
Chamblee spoke about the Americans’ comeback on Sunday during an appearance on The Golf Channel.
“What we saw today was historic, it’s the greatest ever Sunday singles performance not just by a Presidents Cup team but a US Ryder Cup team,“ Chamblee exclaimed.

“You go all the way back to 1979 in a Ryder Cup and the US team has not won more than eight and a half points.
“You go back to the beginnings of 1994 and the Presidents Cup and the US team has never won more than eight points.
“What happened today was what was predicted to happen all week long, given the disparity between the International team and the US team.
“You have to tip your cap to the International team that they made it interesting for the first three days.
“But today the International team was forced to play five players in all four matches coming into the singles and perhaps there was some fatigue there. Just perhaps finally the United States team and all of their talent came to the fore.“

Brandel Chamblee says American players had a point to prove after receiving criticism
The Golf Channel analyst highlighted how the performances from the American players on Sunday may have been down to them having a chip on their shoulder due to the criticism they had received throughout the week at Medinah.
“When you look at the final result, nine and a half to two and a half, and go back to 2025 and the final day of the Ryder Cup. Look at what happened today. In the final day in the singles of the Ryder Cup in 2025 Europe only won one match, today the Internationals only won two matches,“ Chamblee said.
“You are talking about 24 matches. It feels to me like the US team has chagrined a little bit at some of the criticism coming their way from the Ryder Cup.
“But in their Sunday performances, their individual performance, what they did at the Ryder Cup was historic and what they did today was historic.“
