Jon Jones and his lawyer have pie on their face after new evidence was released in the recently retired UFC star’s latest criminal case.
Jones, 37, was allegedly behind the wheel of a crashed vehicle which did not belong to him, but despite showing signs of intoxication and making violent threats, his only charge currently is for leaving the scene of an accident.
“My brothers, they kill people for way less. If something happens to me, dude, she’s flat out dead.”
The woman who owned the car, who’s identity has not been made public, told officers at the scene that she became intoxicated on alcohol and psilocybin mushrooms at the home of the world famous MMA fighter.
She also reportedly told a police safety aide that “Jon Jones, the fighter” was the driver of the crashed vehicle, and that he fled the scene.
A lawyer for the fighter claimed that the police fell for a false allegation, and that Jones is innocent, saying he was not even driving.
“Keep in mind, even the media can get it wrong sometimes if they don’t have all the facts. Don’t believe everything you read online.” 😘

However, the release of this video may change their defense.
After the woman gave officers her phone, the police tried to use it to talk to the seemingly intoxicated and heavily belligerent athlete.
This occurs early in the video, released early Tuesday morning by the Albequerque Journal.
The most shocking quote from Jones is when he brings up his brothers in a threat to an officer.
“Some of them are bored enough to kill you,” Jones can be heard saying, before repeating himself as if he was not clear. “To kill YOU.”
He dug the hole deeper for himself a moment later by threatening the woman as well, “My brothers, they kill people for way less. If something happens to me, dude, she’s flat out dead.”
The Albuquerque Journal managed to get hold of body cam footage of Jon Jones’ recent misdemeanor.

Jones’ train of thought could often not be followed in the video, with the woman involved in the crash eventually yelling at him, “Dude I don’t know what the f*** you’re talking about, my car is wrecked!”
It remains to be seen what consequences Jones will actually face for yet another alleged drunk driving incident, this one involving a half-naked woman other than his fiancé, the mother of his children.
Jones most famously got into trouble when he crashed into a pregnant woman back in 2015, but also has a litany of other court cases which have involved him.
Ten years later, after moving up to heavyweight and winning a second belt only to vacate it after avoiding a fight with the interim champ, it is clear that his personal issues and addiction are still struggles for him, as well as those around him.
Here’s hoping that ‘Bones’ can eventually get help, and that he does not seriously hurt any other innocents in the meantime.
