The penultimate tournament of the 2026 PGA Tour season gets underway today with the BMW Championship. A field of just 50 of the world’s best golfers will play to be part of the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings by the end of the weekend.

Those who do qualify for the season-ending Tour Championship and the $10 million prize awaiting next week’s winner. Rickie Fowler, Bud Cauley and Kurt Kitayama come into Bellerive Country Club with the final three slots, while Gary Woodland and J.T. Poston are knocking on the door.

Scottie Scheffler enters off a St. Jude Championship win by a whopping eight strokes, and he’s the favorite to pick up his third victory of the year. He and Matt Fitzpatrick will be among the last to tee off in St. Louis, while his opening partner last week, Rory McIlroy, gets his tournament started about an hour earlier alongside Xander Schauffele.

Round 1: Thursday, Aug. 20

  • TV coverage: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. ET

  • TV channel: ESPN (10 a.m.-noon) | Golf Channel (3-7 p.m.)

Round 1 of the 2026 BMW Championship will broadcast nationally on ESPN from 10 a.m.-noon before Golf Channel takes over at 3 p.m. Featured group and hole streaming from PGA Tour Live is available on the ESPN app (with a subscription to the Select plan) starting at 10 a.m.
