Following a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo that left Hansi Flick furious, Barcelona will be desperate for a win as they take on Brest on Tuesday.
Barça have struggled with their limited resources lately, with a considerable number of players currently out injured.
The absence of Lamine Yamal, in particular, has hit Barcelona quite hard. And it appears the Spaniard won’t be available against Brest either as he continues to suffer from discomfort.
When will Yamal return to action?
A recent report from Diario AS has offered a fresh update on the fitness of Yamal, notably providing a potential return date for the young forward.
As per the report, Yamal is not fit enough to appear against Brest, which is why Flick has decided to remain cautious in regard to the youngster’s fitness.
However, if everything goes well, Yamal should be ready to take on Las Palmas, Barça’s next opponent in La Liga.
The Catalans take on the Canaries on Saturday, in what could prove to be a must-win game for the league leaders.
Flick, in particular, will not be settling for anything less than three points, having already sent out a strong warning to the dressing room.
Yamal won’t be the only Barcelona forward poised to return against Las Palmas, as Ferran Torres, too, could make his comeback this weekend.
Their potential availability, to that end, could go a long way in boosting Barcelona’s chances of returning to winning ways.
For now, though, Barça’s focus will be on the Champions League action against Brest, where a win could put them in a good position to secure a top-eight place.
