In addition to preparing for the start of the 2025-26 season, the Atlanta Hawks may look into a second career offering dating advice to fans.
After a fan on X asked for advice on what to wear for a date, the Hawks account wrote back that it was an “easy call” and posted a picture of Jeff Teague’s jersey, socks and shoes.
For some reason, the Hawks didn’t include shorts or their tearaway pants in the equation. Hopefully, the person remembered those.
Teague played eight of his 12 NBA seasons with the Hawks, including each of his first seven from 2009-10 to 2015-16. He was part of the famous 2014-15 team that won a franchise-record 60 games and had four of their five starters, including Teague, make the All-Star team.
It’s unclear if the person took advice from the team, but considering the question was posed by an account named Hawks Spirit with a bio stating it promotes “Atlanta Hawks Stats and Propaganda,” it can’t be ruled out.
Depending on how many dates Hawks Spirit has been on with this person, a Teague jersey may be suitable for the occasion. It would be hard to encourage them to go with this attire for a first date, unless the other person is an obsessive Hawks and/or Teague fan.
In that case, the jersey would provide a natural icebreaker. It could also be out of place based on where the date was taking place. If you’re going to a nice restaurant, maybe try something a little more formal.
We can only hope that Hawks Spirit will provide an update about how things went, especially if they took the team’s advice and went with the Teague jersey.
