New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen promised last week that the Giants were not done adding to their defensive line, saying they would “probably” add a veteran player to that group this week.
Well, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Giants may have done just that. Dean Lowry, a 10-year veteran, plans to sign their practice squad.

To be clear, a source has informed Big Blue View that Lowry is not yet officially a Giant.
Lowry, 32, is a 6-foot-6, 296-pound defensive end who was a fourth-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2016. Lowry spent seven years with the Packers, one with the Minnesota Vikings, and the last two with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Lowry has played in 132 regular-season games with 85 starts. Statistically, he has 16.5 career sacks and 271 tackles.
Lowry spent last season on injured reserve due to a torn ACL. He was released by the Steelers in the cutdown from 90 to 53 players.
The Giants have continued to churn their defensive tackle depth as they look for improved run defense.
