Just four months on from their gripping battle for undisputed light heavyweight glory, Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol meet once again.

Beterbiev (21-0, 20 KOs) was taken the distance for the first time in his esteemed career by the brilliant Bivol but prevailed via a majority decision on the scorecards.

A fight so close, in which many observers felt the then-WBA champion Bivol (23-1, 12 KOs) had done enough to avoid a maiden career defeat, demanded a second instalment.

And here we are with ‘The Last Crescendo’, although if Bivol’s sublime skills carry him past Beterbiev’s heavy artillery this time, there will surely be demand for a trilogy. It was and remains a huge ask.

“We are ready for Artur to [start strong] from the beginning,” Bivol told The Ring, while ranking his first fight performance at a somewhat harsh 6/10. “This is one of the things that we have thought about. We won’t know until the fight. I prepared in camp that he will be faster, hit harder, and push more.

“We had some different sparring partners this time. The experience from the first fight allowed me to work on some stuff with my team and we changed some stuff. Not too many changes, but we were able to add.”

A stacked undercard has remained intact, despite IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois and slated WBC lightweight challenger Floyd Schofield withdrawing due to illness during fight week.

Joseph Parker will now take on Martin Bakole in an 11th-hour heavyweight blockbuster, while American star Shakur Stevenson will defend his 135 lbs title against unheralded but undefeated Briton Josh Padley.
