After losing 31-7 to the Seahawks in Week Two, the Cardinals may want to start scouting harder on the defensive side of the ball in preparation for the 2027 NFL Draft. Until more games are played and the world can see a clearer picture of what this team is, they’re still being mocked to pick in the top three come next April.
In an updated 2027 mock following Week Two, Yahoo Sports’ Curt Popejoy has the Cardinals selecting Texas edge rusher Colin Simmons with the third overall pick. The 6’3, 245-pound Simmons is pushing to be the best player at his position this year and he has the stats to back it up.

During his first two seasons with the Longhorns, Simmons compiled 29.5 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, and six forced fumbles. Through three games this season, Simmons has 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, which puts him on pace to repeat his numbers from a year ago.
