Amanda Serrano entered Friday’s fight against Lucrecia Manzur looking to break the all-time knockout record in women’s boxing. Although she fell short of that goal, Serrano still exited the ring with a smile on her face after coming perilously close to suffering the fifth defeat of her career.
Serrano (50-4-1, 32 KOs) won a controversial majority decision over Manzur on Friday at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, to retain her WBA and WBO featherweight titles in what is looking like her penultimate ring appearance.

One judge could not split the pair, 114-114, while the other two found eight rounds for the seven-division champion, 116-112 Serrano.
“Thank God I’m almost out of the game,” Serrano, Uncrowned’s No. 4 pound-for-pound boxer, said moments after a brutal 12-round fight with the Argentine.
Through seven rounds, it looked like we were heading for 2026’s biggest upset in a boxing ring. Serrano, however, rallied late and took a clean sweep of the final five rounds on Uncrowned’s unofficial scorecard to edge out the victory.

Manzur (14-5-1, 7 KOs) held a commanding lead after Round 7, and although Serrano came back strong late in the bout, some observers did not feel it was enough to pull out the victory. Uncrowned scored it 115-113 Serrano.

It was clear in the opening seconds of the bout that Manzur had no respect for Serrano’s pound-for-pound credentials. She brought the fight straight to the Puerto Rican and began to wing power shots over the top of the southpaw’s guard.
Manzur found a home for two power punches early in the fight: an overhand right and a lead left hook. Serrano, for all her greatness, ultimately struggled to defend from either shot and was a sitting duck for those punches for much of the first half of the bout.
On multiple occasions through the first seven rounds, Serrano’s head was knocked back and her knees buckled as right hands smashed into her face, which became bloodied in the fourth round.
Serrano made adjustments in Rounds 8 and 9, keeping her feet moving, landing left hands down the middle and working the body consistently. It slowed down Manzur’s success as she was unable to break the distance at this point in the fight without walking into punches.

Serrano hurt Manzur to the body in the dying seconds of Round 10. She continued her bodywork in the penultimate stanza and forced Manzur to hold on in the final frame after hurting her with a right hook to the chin, which sealed her win.
Serrano, 37, said in her post-fight interview that she has just one fight left in her illustrious boxing career. She currently sits in a tie with Christy Martin for the most knockouts (32) in women’s boxing history.

Left-hand scores for Manzur. And again. A pair of combinations for Serrano. An uppercut lifts up the head; a body shot follows, but here comes a trio of clean lefts from Manzur and a right to follow. Nice hook on the inside. Serrano catches Manzur with a right hook, and Manzur is forced to hold on. It’s a strong finish for Serrano, who is putting together her punches!

Lovely left hook to right-hand two-piece from Manzur. Serrano moves to her left and walks into overhand rights; she moves to her right and walks into lead left hooks — she is stuck! Combination scores for Serrano. This has been a better round for her with her movement and consistent left hands.

Into the second half of this fight and on Uncrowned’s scorecard, Amanda Serrano will need a strong second half to retain her title.
Serrano cannot avoid those same two shots from Manzur. She has made no adjustments and shown few signs of being able to defend from those punches. The rights are buckling her knees when they land. This is great stuff from Manzur!

Better fifth from Serrano. Manzur didn’t have as much success with her right for the majority of the round. Serrano managed to move and box her, but she was caught with an overhand right at the end of the frame.

Serrano got clipped by a right again — and she does it twice more. Blood starts to pour from Serrano’s forehead. Manzur hammers the midsection now. Manzur is still a threat at this point in the fight. They will exchange power shots to close out the fourth.

Nice up-jab for Serrano again. Serrano walks her into a short left. They traded power shots. Manzur continues to force the pace, but Serrano is doing a better job of evading and walking her into punches, as she did in the final 10 seconds.

Two-piece scores for Manzur early. Manzur is bringing the fight to Serrano and landing with some nice power shots on the inside. This could become interesting if Serrano can’t discourage her somehow. Right hook scores. Two more rights. Wow! Serrano gets clipped by a jab and even that had her off balance. Serrano needs to change tactic here!

It’s Manzur who pushes Serrano back early. Nice right connects for Manzur. It’s been a strong start for Manzur behind her jab and pressure. Now, Serrano walks her into a combination, though. Serrano goes downstairs.

A strong first round for Jahmal Harvey, who worked the body well, busted up Keb’s nose, bloodied his face, and started to find a home for power shots at the end of the frame.
It was a better start to Round 2 for Keb, who connected with a couple of rights. Harvey quickly regained control, though, and delivered some sustained punishment.
This one could be close to a finish, folks!
And there it is! Two HUGE rights end it. The first one knocked him out on his feet, and the second one left him flat on his back.
