Former Real Madrid defender Jacobo Ramon, now playing for Italian side Como under Cesc Fabregas, has opened up about his time with Los Blancos, describing scoring at the Santiago Bernabeu as the best moment of his career.

It must be noted that the 20-year-old defender made his senior team debut last season under Carlo Ancelotti, coming on as a substitute in a 5-1 UEFA Champions League victory against Red Bull Salzburg in January.

In May, he made his La Liga debut in a 3-2 win over Celta Vigo. That same month, Ramon scored his first goal for Real Madrid against Mallorca, netting the decisive strike in the 95th minute to secure a 2–1 victory.

Reflecting on these moments, Jacobo told MARCA, “Scoring a goal for Madrid at the Bernabeu was the best day of my life.”

Although he admitted that his first-team debut wasn’t exactly what he had envisioned, he still expressed pride in achieving a dream shared by every Real Madrid fan.

“It was my first start for Madrid, and that makes it unforgettable.”

Ramon also spoke about his transition from Madrid to Italy, stating,

“It was hard to leave Madrid, my family, and my friends, but when I arrived in Como, everything was wonderful. I arrived with my parents and my brother, and we were all very happy.”

The young defender has quickly adapted to his new surroundings at Como, appreciating the support of fellow Spaniards in the club, such as Alvaro Morata, Sergi Roberto and Alberto Moreno, among others.

“There are a lot of us Spaniards, and that makes everything easier,” he added, highlighting how the familiar environment has helped him settle in comfortably.

Lastly, he also opened up on playing under Fabregas, who has made quite an impact as a manager after a successful playing career.

“For me, Cesc is an absolute role model. It was a huge honour to be called up to play with him,” he added.
