  • Allin Crouch leads the Florida Open after shooting a first-round 64.
  • Crouch leads Brad Schneider and Trevor Hulbert by two strokes.
  • The field will play one round each at Quail West and TwinEagles before the cut.

Allin Crouch of Jacksonville birdied four of his last six holes at the Quail West Country Club Preserve Course in Naples and at 8-under-par 64 took a two-shot lead in the first round of the Florida Open on July 18. 

Crouch, who played high school golf at Bolles and college golf at the University of Florida, leads Brad Schneider of Tampa (66 at Quail West) and Trevor Hulbert of Orlando (66 at the TwinEagles Club Talon Course).  

Former University of North Florida player Cooper Smith of Tampa, past Florida Open winner Andrew Pope of Orlando and Sean Jacklin of Bradenton are among seven players tied at 5-under. 

Among seven players tied at 4-under are past PGA Tour winner Ted Potter of Ocala (Quail West) and two-time Florida Open champion and UF golf coach J.C. Deacon (TwinEagles). 

The field will play one round each at Quail West and TwinEagles. After the cut is made to the low 60, plus ties, following the second round, the final round will be at Quail West on July 20.
