The Fitzpatrick brothers are on top of the golfing world.

Alex Fitzpatrick, the younger brother of 2022 U.S. Open champion Matt, won his first DP World Tour title on Sunday at the Hero Indian Open. Fitzpatrick trailed by six shots at points during the final round but rattled off eight birdies down the stretch, leading by four on the final hole. Even a double at the last couldn’t take away the biggest week of his life.

“I’ll try and explain without crying, it’s been a lot of hard work for a long time,” Fitzpatrick said. “As much as this is the most amazing thing in the world right now, there’s more important things in life than golf so… probably going to cry but yeah, ecstatic. I just had to ask my caddie how many putts I had (to win) from 6 feet, so I think that says it all.”

The win is also historic, as the Fitzpatricks become the first brothers to win titles on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour in consecutive weeks. Matt won the Valspar Championship last week for his third PGA Tour crown.

And this week, the younger Fitzpatrick finally had his breakthrough.
