Akshay Bhatia has turned down a “lucrative offer” to join LIV Golf.

Golf Channel’s Rex Hoggard reported Tuesday that Bhatia, a two-time PGA Tour winner ranked No. 46 in the world, is the latest player to spurn interest from the Saudi-backed league, which has failed to lure big stars since signing Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton ahead of the 2024 season. Two weeks ago, LIV Golf announced the departure five-time major champion Brooks Koepka.

Bhatia has made the Tour Championship in each of the past two seasons. Last month, he married Presleigh Schultz in the Bahamas.

Earlier Tuesday, a report stated LIV Golf was signing Belgian Thomas Detry and Aussie Elvis Smylie. Last February, Detry became the first player from Belgium to win on the PGA Tour.

Bhatia is not the first PGA Tour winner to turn down offers from LIV Golf this year. Si Woo Kim was long rumored to join the league, but the past Sony Open champion will be at Waialae next week to kick off the 2026 PGA Tour season.
