Adam Scott still has a chance to win the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth on Sunday.
That’s in spite of a mediocre third-round 71 from Scott leaving him two strokes adrift of the leaders after 54 holes.

The 46-year-old Australian played some sensational golf during the first two rounds, but he made far too many sloppy mistakes on Saturday at Wentworth.
Adam Scott made five bogeys on day three of the BMW PGA Championship, but he did offset those with six birdies.
He was far from his best on Saturday at Wentworth, and as Scott struggled, numerous other players posted terrific scores.
There were three rounds of 64 posted on Saturday, two rounds of 66 and a plethora of 67s.
And Scott was struggling to see how it was possible to shoot rounds like that on a day where the conditions at Wentworth were tricky to say the least.

Scott spoke to reporters after carding a third-round 71 on Saturday.
He was asked to sum up his round and whether he was happy with his score in the end.
“That was a grind out there,“ the Australian admitted.
“I saw all these good scores up on the board but it didn’t feel like that was really doable. It was kind of one step forward and a couple steps back out there.
“It was very hard to get in a rhythm and hard to feel like you had a number where you could attack.
“It was challenging. It was blustery and a great day on the West Course, really.“

Scott finished his round with two birdies in a row, so he would have felt a lot better about things after his round, despite the difficulties he faced throughout day three.
It’s also worth noting that the wind strengthened as the day went on, and the vast majority of the really low scores were shot earlier on in the day, if not all of them.
The key thing for Adam Scott to remember is that he is still in with a great chance of winning the BMW PGA Championship on Sunday.
He may well have got his mediocre round out of the way, and a score in the mid-60s on Sunday could be enough for him to get the job done.
