ARDMORE — The Ada High School boys golf team turned in its best round of golf of the season Monday at the Plainview Invitational.

The tournament was played on two courses — the Dornick Hills Country Club and the Lakeview Golf Course.

“We had a decent day overall. The morning round was our best this year by far, but we slipped a good bit in the afternoon,” Ada boys golf coach Robbie Powell told The Ada News. “We are improving, we just have to continue to do that over the next couple of weeks.”

Oklahoma Christian School won the team title after shooting a 301-294—595. Host Plainview was next with a 293-311—604 and Heritage Hall settled for third place at 318-305—623. Kingston was three strokes back with a two-round total of 626.

The Byng Pirates finished with a 360-365—725.

Rounding out the Ada scoring was Brant Vest with a 175, Kash Taylor-Rogers with a 178 and Kale Fuller with a 187.

“Drake and Couper played well all day. The others played well in spots,” Powell said.
