Pittsburgh Steelers safety Juan Thornhill told reporters on Thursday that quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been working with the scout-team offense in preparation for Sunday’s matchup with the veteran’s former team, the Green Bay Packers.
Rodgers last played in Green Bay in the 2022 season, though both Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and quarterback Jordan Love were both Packers at the time, so Rodgers surely has plenty of insights to offer.
Rodgers has said he isn’t seeking revenge when the two teams clash, however.
“I don’t have any animosity toward the organization,” he told reporters. “Obviously, I wish that things had been better in our last year there, but I have a great relationship with a lot of people still in that organization, and this is not a revenge game for me. I’m just excited to see some of those guys and be on ‘Sunday Night Football’ again.”
“It would feel different if I was going back to Green Bay,” he added. “I have a lot of love for the organization, but if we were playing in Lambeau, that would be a little different feeling for sure.”
Both teams appear to be contenders in their respective conferences, with the Packers starting 4-1-1 and the Steelers 4-2, so it will be a fascinating matchup even without the Rodgers storyline.
