The Commanders entered their second practice day without linebacker Frankie Luvu (hamstring) and tight end Chig Okonkwo (groin), keeping their status for Sunday’s Week 2 contest against the Dallas Cowboys in serious doubt.
While nothing it decided yet — these veterans can certainly practice once and still play — the outlook to this point is not great.

Neither is the fact that Javon Kinlaw was held out with a back issue that was new to the Commanders injury list.
Dan Quinn will address Kinlaw’s status on Friday morning.
The list of limited participants remains somewhat long, but it’s tough to glean insight from that. Edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson (knee), receiver Jaylin Lane (groin), defensive lineman Charles Omenihu (ankle), edge rusher Odafe Oweh (calf), edge rusher Dorance Armstrong (knee) were held back at least somewhat on Thursday. Defensive lineman Daron Payne (knee) was a full-go in practice.
