A.J. Allmendinger is set to run two NASCAR races at Darlington Raceway this weekend. Allmendinger will drive the No. 10 truck for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Truck Series race at Darlington, replacing the suspended Daniel Dye, the team announced. On Tuesday, NASCAR suspended Dye for insensitive comments about NTT IndyCar Series driver David Malukas on a livestream.

Allmendinger, who drive the No. 16 car full-time for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, hasn’t competed in the Truck Series since 2021 when he drove for GMS Racing at Watkins Glen International. The Kaulig Racing driver’s last oval start in the Truck Series was in 2008, finishing in 17th place at Auto Club Speedway.

It will be fascinating to see how Allmendinger runs in the Truck Series event; however, he has been good at the venue in the past. It is unclear how long Dye will be out of the No. 10 truck for Kaulig Racing, meaning this may not be Allmendinger’s only Truck Series start during the 2026 NASCAR season.
