They call it the “Big One” for a reason. Located in Lincoln, Alabama, Talladega Superspeedway has always been one of the most intimidating tracks on the NASCAR calendar. Measuring 2.66 miles around, it is 0.16 miles longer than the iconic Daytona International Speedway. The track also features 33-degree banking in the corners, making it infamous for multi-car wrecks.
Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce experienced firsthand why Talladega Superspeedway has earned its reputation, and let’s just say it was an eye-opening experience for the 38-year-old.

Jason Kelce Blown Away by Talladega Experience
Seeing Kelce on a NASCAR track, especially at Talladega Superspeedway, was not on the bingo card for many NFL and racing enthusiasts. However, the NFL legend has been undertaking several adventures in recent months, especially at Talladega, which hosted the Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series earlier this year.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Kelce was seen climbing the Talladega Superspeedway banking, and his mind was blown by the tri-oval superspeedway.
“This is the steepest one? It is very eye-openingly steep. That is four stories? I want to walk it first. Oh my God,” Kelce said. “This is f***ing wild. Holy sh*t.”

“This is like a cheat code for NFL workouts,” he went on to add.

This is not Kelce’s only experience at Talladega. He was part of Corey Day’s crew during the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Ag-Pro 300 race, where he helped out by holding the car sign during a pit stop after the first stage. He was also seen helping with fuel and catching tires.
It’s not uncommon for former college or lower-level professional football players to be part of a NASCAR crew, especially given how physically demanding pit-lane work can be. It was fun to see Kelce, who spent 13 seasons in the NFL, have such a hands-on experience at one of the biggest races in NASCAR’s second tier.

To add a cherry on top, Kelce also ended up in Victory Lane after Day’s No. 17 Chevy Camaro won the 2026 Ag-Pro 300. The race winner also spoke about Kelce’s involvement afterward.
“Super cool to have him,” Day said. “He’s been a fan of the sport for a long time. It was cool that the 17 team could give him a behind-the-scenes look this weekend.”
However, being on the pit crew as a tire changer, jackman, or fueler isn’t the same as being on the track. And Kelce’s recent experience of climbing Talladega Superspeedway’s steep banking is one he will not forget anytime soon.
