The Los Angeles Kings announced they have recalled forward Samuel Helenius from their AHL Affiliate Ontario Reign.
Helenius has two goals and six points in 20 games with the Reign and one goal and three points in 27 games with the Kings this season while averaging 8:37 of time on ice.
His last NHL game came Jan. 27 against the Detroit Red Wings, he was sent to the AHL when the Kings activated Drew Doughty off injured reserve.
A second round pick of the Kings in 2021, Helenius is listed at 6’6 and plays a heavy game. He will likely slot back in as the kings fourth line center.
The 22-year-old is in the second year of his three-year entry level contract.
Helenius has 13 goals and 40 points in 162 career AHL games.
