It appears the Pittsburgh Penguins are rewarding one of their blossoming defensive prospects.

On Monday, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas announced that the Penguins have signed right defensive prospect Finn Harding to a three-year, entry level contract.

Harding was selected in the seventh round (223rd overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft by the Penguins. He was actually a re-draft by the Penguins, as Harding also entered the 2023 NHL Draft but was not selected.

For the Ontario Hockey League’s (OHL) Brampton Steelheads so far in 2024-25, the 6-foot-2, 192-pound Harding has registered seven goals and 55 points in 59 games played, which is good enough for fifth-best among league defensemen. Overall, he has 19 goals and 99 points in 190 games for the Steelheads and is a plus-90.
