The best tennis players in the world descend upon China for the ATP Shanghai Masters 1000 that starts on Wednesday, October 2 at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in Shanghai.
As expected, the field is packed for this year’s competition. World No 1 and recently crowned US Open champion Jannik Sinner is the top seed. The Italian is the only player to have won multiple Masters events this year.
Alexander Zverev is the second seed while French Open and Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz is seeded third. The competition’s record four-time champion Novak Djokovic is the fourth seed.
Defending champion Hubert Hurkacz however, will not be competing this year.

The first round of main draw matches at the ATP Shanghai Masters begin on Wednesday, October 2 at 12:30 p.m. local time (CST). This schedule will be followed for most days.
