The NASCAR Cup Series continue the run to the Daytona 500 with Thursday’s duel qualifying races at Daytona International Speedway.
Chase Briscoe earned the pole for Sunday’s race and will lead the Duel 1 field to green on Thursday.
Jimmie Johnson and Martin Truex Jr. secured their spots into the Daytona 500 field via their qualifying times as the top two open, non-chartered entries. If either are the top open entry in their duel race, they will advance via their duel result and Justin Allgaier will make it on his qualifying time. Either way, both former champions are in the 500 field.

Helio Castroneves could be the first driver to use the OEP if he doesn’t race into the 40-car field. If he has to use the open exemption provisional, Castroneves will be an extra 41st car in the field and will start last.
