With Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby missing out on Friday’s contest against the New York Rangers, the Penguins called up Emil Bemström for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The 25-year-old leads the WBS Penguins with 41 points in 37 games thanks to 19 goals and 22 assists. He’s also tied for the team’s best plus/minus rating at plus-11.

Despite not getting any points over the three All-Star Games, Bemström has eight points in his last four games, including a four-assist night on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and a hat trick on Sunday, Jan. 26.
