The field for one of the biggest amateur events on the calendar is taking shape.
The initial field was announced Wednesday for the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, with three past champions highlighting the field, including world No. 1 Lottie Woad. Other past champions teeing it up include Anna Davis and Tsubasa Kajitani. Sixty-five players have confirmed their spots in the field, with seven remaining spots to be announced soon.
All of the top 50 eligible players from the final World Amateur Golf Ranking of 2024 are in the field. Players from 18 different countries and five continents will compete in the championship, which will be the sixth edition.
ANWA will be played April 2-5 at Champions Retreat in Evans, Georgia, and the famed Augusta National Golf Club will host the final round. The top 30 players and ties will make the cut, but every player will get a practice round at Augusta National.
Among the other notables in the field include Rianne Malixi, the Duke signee who won the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur and 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior. Asterisk Talley fell to Malixi in both of those championships, but she recently won the AJGA Annika Invitational as well as topped the field at the LPGA’s Tournament of Champions Celebrity division. Bailey Shoemaker, who last year shot 6-under 66 in the final round to finish second, will also return.
The first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur will be broadcast live on Golf Channel from 1:30-3:30 p.m. ET from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will broadcast three hours (Noon-3 p.m. ET) of live final-round coverage at Augusta National.
