“Night in and night out (goalies) Shesterkin and Quick are under siege,” says columnist Patrick Hoffman. “Against the Devils, the Rangers played poorly in every area of the ice. The team hardly had control of the puck. And when they did have the puck, they turned it over. There may be a lot of hockey left but it’s getting late early for the Rangers.”
“The Rangers were doomed before they hit the ice against the Devils,” says scout Jess Rubenstein. “And what were they thinking making Chris Kreider a healthy scratch?”
“The Blueshirts are lifeless,” writes longtime fan Bernie Rohde. “Done like dinner. The goalkeepers are going to have to be treated for PTSD! Zero push from this group leads me to believe it’s because of their dislike for Drury. Pete, however, is going to be the fall guy. I don’t think he makes it to the New Year!”
“There were three stars for Devils players,” reports my sidekick Solon Mihas. “On the other hand, everyone from top to bottom were today’s ‘Worst Rangers.'”
CONCLUSION: Disgust is the order of the day. Fear of missing the playoffs is the order of the month!
