Miami Dolphins third-year pass rusher Chop Robinson missed last Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers due to a concussion he suffered during practice leading up to the game. According to Robinson, it was his fifth documented concussion — third as a member of the Dolphins.
On Thursday, speaking with the South Florida media, Robinson said that as a result of his latest brain injury, he will begin wearing a padded Guardian Cap moving forward in an effort to prevent further concussions.

“Just for me personally, I’m starting with a Guardian Cap, so I’m being smart about it,” said Robinson. “I want a future and [to] have kids and have a family and everything. So, I’ll just put the Guardian Cap [on]. There’s no harm in wearing it, so I might as well put it on.“
When speaking on the incident that caused his concussion during practice, Robinson said that it was “just a football hit,” but declined to further elaborate.
According to an independent study, Guardian Caps can reduce incidences of concussions by 54-62%.
