The Buffalo Bills are off to a 2-0 start for the sixth time in the last eight seasons, and Josh Allen and the offense are off to a dynamic start, averaging 38.5 points per game in wins over the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions.
Despite the fast start, the Bills are not without their issues, especially on defense, where Buffalo became just the third team in league history to begin a season 2-0 while allowing at least 30 points per game (along with the 1991 Bills and 2000 St. Louis Rams).

Bills offense has been explosive, defense has work to do
Among the reasons for optimism among Bills fans: the red-hot starts from quarterback Josh Allen, defensive tackle Deone Walker, running back James Cook, pass rusher Greg Rousseau, and tight end Dalton Kincaid; how well Buffalo’s offensive and defensive lines have played through two games; how efficient Allen has been directing a dynamic offense; and how vastly improved Buffalo’s third-down defense has been so far.

Among the causes for concern: Buffalo’s secondary has been picked apart in the first two games of the season; the depth along the defensive line beyond Rousseau, Walker, Ed Oliver and Bradley Chubb has been inconsistent at best; and the defense has allowed opponents to convert on 53 percent of their late-down chances when a stop would clinch a victory.
