Liverpool were left frustrated by a dogged and determined Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday as the visitors held on to claim a point in the Women’s Super League.
Both sides came into this fixture in good spirits after both claimed impressive opening day wins last time out.

It was a game that Gareth Taylor’s Reds had the better of and they had the first chance of note. Ceri Holland cut in and got her shot away, but it was tame and Lize Kop wasn’t unduly bothered.
With just under half an hour gone, Shekiera Martinez found herself with space in the box. With Kirsty Hanson and Matilda Vinberg bursting forward, Martinez was caught in two minds as to either cross or shoot. In the end, she didn’t really do either, allowing Keira’s Keating to gather with ease.
With five minutes to go until half-time, Spurs took the lead in fortuitous circumstances. Signe Gauspet took the ball and drove into the box before crossing. The ball took a huge deflection off the unfortunate Sam Kerr and looped in over a helpless Keating.

Early in the second half, Martinez fired wide from distance as Spurs sought to put daylight between themselves and their hosts.
Liverpool got the equaliser they deserved just before the hour. A loose pass from Amanda Nildén was played straight into the feet of Fuka Nagano.
Some slick, one touch passing around the Tottenham defence allowed Nagano to cross for Aurélie Csillag who beat Tōko Koga at the front post to head home. With that goal, Liverpool seized the initiative. Vivien Endemann had appeals for a penalty waved away before Csillag fired over.
Kop was forced into a smart stop to push over an effort from Alice Bergström after Swede danced through the Spurs backline.

Keating palmed away a curling effort from substitute Olivia Holdt before Kop smothered a shot from Csillag as the teams were forced to share the points.
The result puts Liverpool and Spurs both on four points after two games, level with Chelsea who currently occupy second in the WSL table. Manchester City are the league leaders following their perfect start.
