However, things didn’t quite go to plan in the Netherlands on Saturday morning.
Nelly Korda explains Solheim Cup foursomes defeat
Korda addressed the media after her 3&2 defeat to the Europeans on Saturday morning at Bernardus Golf.
She responded when asked to provide a reason as to why she and her teammate Corpuz were beaten so convincingly.

“They just played really well,“ Korda said.

“I think they were, like, 6- or 5-under through eight holes. So it’s tough. Yeah, I mean, alternate shot’s hard enough, but when you’re playing against a group of girls that are playing really, really well, it’s even harder.
“We just tried to be, like, okay, we still have nine more holes.
“Like, let’s get it on the back and just tried to stay positive and just focus on ourselves, not really what was going on on the outside.“
Allisen Corpuz echoes Nelly Korda’s sentiment
Corpuz spoke to reporters after losing the Saturday morning foursomes match alongside her teammate Nelly Korda.

“Exactly what Nelly said,“ Corpuz admitted.
“I felt like we played pretty much the same as yesterday.
“Maybe one or two shots, I think, that we both wish we could get back. But overall, really solid.
“We got a few putts to drop towards the end. But, yeah, they just played really well.“
Interestingly, both Korda and Corpuz were rested for the Saturday afternoon four-ball matches, and it remains to be seen whether that was a big mistake from Team USA captain Angela Stanford.
