Ahead of their game against the New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys were handed some inopportune injury news. Dallas just recently placed Tyler Smith on injured reserve but otherwise had been mostly healthy in the week leading up to their opener against the New York Giants. Things took a turn today during Friday’s practice and leaves the Cowboys with an immediate hole to fill two days before the game.
Malik Davis left practice today with a hip injury and he has been ruled out. Davis had a great summer and fought off Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah to secure the backup running back job. With Davis out this week, that leaves heavier workload for Javonte Williams and new Cowboys running back Emari Demercado.

Additionally, Jonathan Bullard has been battling a groin injury. He does not carry an injury designation this week and neither does offensive lineman Ajani Cornelius (knee).
As for the Giants, Malik Nabers (knee) is listed as questionable to play Sunday. He was coy with his words this week in speaking to the media, and his status is up in the air whether the Cowboys’ secondary will face the premier receiver. However, Andrew Thomas (knee) will be in the lineup.
