According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Green Bay Packers will work out Jack Plummer, the UFL’s 2026 MVP and passing leader, next week. This is an interesting move, as the Packers just signed quarterback Kedon Slovis to their practice squad earlier this week and the team still has one remaining practice squad spot open. Green Bay’s quarterback search stems from the team only carrying three players at the position this preseason, after Kyron Drones was released from the team in Week 1, and the trade of QB3 Kyle McCord to the Miami Dolphins.
Plummer played college football at three programs, Purdue, California and Louisville, before signing with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2024. He spent his rookie year on the team’s practice squad before being waived by the Panthers last August. In January, he resurfaced in the UFL, where he threw 17 touchdown passes and one interception with the Orlando Storm.
Since the UFL season, Plummer has worked out with the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and New York Jets.
