The 2026 IHSAA girls golf state championship is moving from Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel to Battle Ground Golf Club in Lafayette.
In an email to the state’s athletic directors, IHSAA assistant commissioner Chris Kaufman wrote that Prairie View has dealt with “a myriad of issues that have greatly impacted the course conditions and the ability to provide the very best experience for everyone at the state finals” following the historic flooding that swept through Indiana earlier this month.

The front nine and driving range at Prairie View reopened last weekend after being closed since at least Aug. 16, according to Facebook posts. They hope to reopen for full 18-hole rounds next Saturday.
Kaufman wrote that he worked to find an alternate site and while other courses reached out to provide an alternative, Battle Ground was the one ultimately approved by the IHSAA executive committee.
Battle Ground is a 72 par and plays 7,100 yards from the back tees. It recently hosted the Indiana PGA Women’s Open and, according to Kaufman: “by accounts (it) was a fantastic experience.” It also serves as a regional site, though this year’s event will be relocated to Harrison Hills Golf Club in Attica.
“Please know the IHSAA, O’Neal Golf Management and the Indiana Golf Association will work together to provide another great experience for all the schools, participants and fans in a few short weeks,” Kaufman wrote.

This year’s event will be played on Oct. 2-3, as originally scheduled.
Prairie View has hosted the two-day, two-round event since 2014.
Previous host sites have included the Ulen Country Club in Lebanon (1973-74), Elks Country Club in Muncie (1975-87), Prestwick Country Club in Avon (1987-99) and The Legends Golf Club in Franklin (2000-14).
