Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James is an avid golfer as the future Hall of Famer has revealed how much he loves the game. The ability to golf played a factor in his free agency decision as he has mentioned that he will find a way to golf indoors in the brutal Philadelphia winter.
Now, James is looking to take his love of golf to his hometown of Akron, OH. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, James will team up with the PGA Tour to host the LeBron James Family Foundation Invitational at the Firestone Country Club in Akron. The idea is to highlight underrepresented aspiring pro golfers with all proceeds to benefit the Akron community.
James has always been one to give back to his community as he leads philanthropic efforts in his hometown. This is a terrific way to combine his love for golf with giving back and helping underserved communities that need it.
