Tiger Woods’ son Charlie Woods has reached a major milestone in his young golf career: The 17-year-old is officially beginning his final high school season before making the jump to college golf.
Charlie returns to Benjamin School this fall as a senior and already has two Florida state championships on his résumé. He and fellow senior Andrew Tsar will now try to lead the defending state champions to another FHSAA title before their high school careers end.

For Charlie, another championship would give him three state titles in four seasons before he heads to Florida State University.
Charlie Woods Begins His Final High School Golf Season
Charlie has played a significant role in Benjamin’s recent success.
He helped the Buccaneers capture a state championship as a freshman before the team reached the state finals during his sophomore season. Benjamin returned to the top during Charlie’s junior year.
Charlie delivered one of his biggest performances during the 2025 Class 1A state championship. Playing at the top of Benjamin’s lineup, he shot a 4-under-par 68 during the second round. It was the lowest score posted by any golfer that day and helped Benjamin rally to win its second state championship in three years.

Now, the senior class enters its final season with its college plans already settled. Charlie committed to Florida State earlier this year, while Tsar and teammate Brooks Colton committed to Southern Methodist University.
Benjamin coach Toby Harbeck believes knowing what comes next could help his seniors concentrate on finishing their high school careers strong.
“That takes all the pressure off to make you play well,” Harbeck told Golfweek. “I don’t like saying we’re playing with house money, but you know, the pressure’s off them. We’ll just see how bad they want it.”
Despite everything his team has already accomplished, Harbeck doesn’t want his players looking backward.

“We’ve got to put it in our minds that we’re going to try to be better than we were last year,” he said. “That’s the message I’m going to send to them, and we’ll find out as the season goes on.”
Tiger Woods’ Son Had a Difficult Finish at U.S. Junior Amateur
Charlie’s final high school season follows a busy summer that included a frustrating finish at the U.S. Junior Amateur.
According to The Athletic, Charlie found himself in a 14-player playoff for the final two spots in the 64-player match-play bracket at Saucon Valley Country Club in Pennsylvania on July 22.

During a critical shot, a spectator’s iPhone camera shutter went off during Charlie’s backswing. Charlie reacted immediately, saying, “Really, man?” He eventually made bogey and was eliminated from contention.
Eli Wessel and Hudson Kutchma ultimately secured the final two spots.
Charlie also spent time on the other side of the bag this summer. He caddied for friend Miles Russell during a 36-hole U.S. Open final qualifying event in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, in June.
The next major chapter in Charlie’s career is already waiting.
His commitment to Florida State means this will be his final season representing Benjamin before moving into NCAA competition.
