Claressa Shields returns to action this weekend, as the self-proclaimed “G.W.O.A.T.” leads a stacked boxing card on August 15 featuring multiple women’s title fights.
Shields headlines at the State Farm Arena against Kaye Scott, challenging for the latter’s WBA and WBC middleweight titles. A former undisputed middleweight champion, Shields aims for her 21st total world title against a game Scott.
Meanwhile, two fighters familiar with both women compete for light heavyweight gold when Danielle Perkins defends the WBA light heavyweight title against Olivia Curry. Additionally, Caroline Veyre defends the WBC super featherweight title against South Africa’s Bernice Ferreira.

Per the FanDuel Sportsbook, Claressa Shields is the -3500 favorite, while Kaye Scott is the +1460 underdog.
A pound-for-pound great, Shields has a +/- of 14.3, the third-best among active boxers. She ranks sixth (50.6) in total punches thrown per round and fifth (16.6) in punches landed, with a connect percentage of 32.8%. Shields lands the third-most power shots (13.7).
Against Savannah Marshall, Shields landed 175 of 480 shots (36.5%). She landed over 20 shots three times early in the fight. In her last middleweight fight, against Maricela Cornejo, Shields landed 124 of 485 shots (25.6%) and connected only once with single-digit shots.
Following up from one of the best fights of 2025, which ended in a draw, Scott beat Olivia Curry to win the WBA and WBC titles. She used her range to set up an effective jab, pushed forward and landed accurate, punishing shots. Can she bully Shields? Her opponents land the second-fewest total punches (6.3) per round.
The only thing that could affect Shields’ performance is the weight change. While she has competed at middleweight, Shields competed around 174 in her last fight. Will it make a difference?
Shields maintains a good range and forces her opponents to try to reach in. She can break them down with ease, regardless of status in the sport. Expect that to be the same in this fight, though Scott won’t be a pushover.

Danielle Perkins (c) vs. Olivia Curry for the WBA light heavyweight title

Per the DraftKings Sportsbook, Danielle Perkins is the -750 favorite, while Olivia Curry is the +475 underdog.
While Perkins lost to Claressa Shields, getting dropped at one point, she recovered with a knockout win against Chei Kenneally for the WBA title. She provided pressure late in the fight, pressing Kenneally against the ropes. Perkins broke Kenneally mentally before breaking her down physically.
Curry and Kaye Scott competed in a combined 20 rounds, putting on a Fight of the Year candidate in the first fight. While Scott controlled the second fight, Curry still brought it to the former. She gave Shadasia Green some trouble in a tough decision loss.

It’s safe to say Curry won’t go down easily. She may get dropped but will come back up and fight back. Curry’s resilience may not result in a win, though. Perkins’ power could be the deciding factor in this fight.
Caroline Veyre (c) vs. Bernice Ferreira for the WBC super featherweight title

Per BetMGM, Caroline Veyre is the -500 favorite, while Bernice Ferreira is the +333 underdog.
In Veyre’s last fight, the Canadian outpointed former world champion Delfine Persoon to win WBC gold. While Persoon is known for providing pressure, Veyre forced Persoon to lose her cool.
South Africa’s first female champion (IBO), Ferreira attempts to build on her momentum. “The Badger” faces her first major test since turning pro in 2023.
This fight may not be pretty, but that’s fine for Veyre, who can once again provide pressure to avoid key shots. The champion should win via decision.
