The PGA Tour capped off its 2026 regular season with yet another strong viewership performance.
CBS averaged 2.59 million viewers during its Sunday broadcast of the Wyndham Championship, a 33 percent increase from last year, according to Josh Carpenter with Sports Business Journal. The final round broadcast peaked at just shy of 4 million viewers as Michael Brennan made birdie on the 72nd hole to seal a three-shot win, nabbing the second PGA Tour victory of his career.

The network also saw stellar ratings Saturday, with an average of 1.79 million, making it the most-watched weekend at the Wyndham Championship since 2015, when Tiger Woods finished in a tie for 10th. Golf Channel’s weekday coverage was up 22 percent year-over-year, averaging 614,000 viewers over the first two rounds.

Of the 26 non-major PGA Tour events, only three had final rounds that failed to eclipse an average of 2 million viewers, those being the pair of January tournaments that went head-to-head with the NFL Playoffs, as well as the Genesis Scottish Open, which suffered from a large time zone gap for American audiences but still managed to draw 1.94 million.
Per usual, the Masters blew every other event out of the water with more than 13 million final-round viewers, but the PGA Tour can boast the fact that three of its tournaments ― the Players Championship, the RBC Heritage and the Travelers Championship ― all outdrew The Open Championship, the season’s final major.
The attention now shifts to the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which begin Thursday with the top 69 in the season-long points standings set to compete at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis. The field will be cut down to 50 for the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis (Aug. 20-23) before East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta welcomes the top 30 for the season-ending Tour Championship (Aug. 27-30), where a $10 million check will be awarded to the winner.
