Roma’s transfer window has caught fire, with the Giallorossi pushing hard on two fronts as they chase Feyenoord full-back Givairo Read and RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the pursuit of Read has developed into a tense stand-off with Feyenoord. Sporting director Tony D’Amico has kept up constant contact with both the player’s camp and the Dutch club, and has now been joined on the front line by Gian Piero Gasperini.

From Roma’s training camp in Wales, the coach personally phoned Read to lay out the role he would have in his new-look side, a guaranteed starting berth on the right flank and the prospect of not just Serie A but Champions League football.
That European carrot is Roma’s key bargaining chip, particularly against Nottingham Forest, who are also keen but are not set to feature in UEFA competitions next season.
On the money, Roma have tabled €25m, €23m fixed plus €2m in bonuses, but Feyenoord are now holding out for around €28m guaranteed, stoking an auction and waiting to see whether Forest return with a counter.

Roma chase Leipzig’s Nusa as second summer priority
Read is only half the story. In parallel, Roma are pressing relentlessly for Nusa, viewed as the man to complete their attack.
Here, too, a gap remains: Leipzig value the Norwegian at €55m, roughly €10m more than Roma are prepared to pay. D’Amico is working several tables at once, keeping alternatives in mind should either deal stall.
The pressure has been ratcheted up by Gasperini himself, who publicly called for the club to accelerate in the market, comments that have inevitably turned the spotlight onto the hierarchy’s work.
With Read and Nusa established as the twin priorities of Roma’s summer, the sense at Trigoria is that something will have to give by Monday: a breakthrough, a decisive bid, or the decision to move on.
