This past week, I asked the following question:
Which player currently on the training camp roster do you see as a sleeper to make the roster who you also believe could be a solid contributor during the season that no one else is currently talking about or writing stories about, and why?

PA phinphan hopes that one of the veteran running backs steps up or maybe even the former Michigan 2025 undrafted free agent.
If Wright and Gordon don’t step up their game, Donovan Edwards could take their place.
Dolfanjoe, in response to PA phinphan, points out that this team is going to need one more viable starting-level or near-starting-level running back besides Achane if the new staff intends to roll with a run-first concept on offense.
They were really high on the undrafted back Levon Moss. They looked at him as Ollie Gordons replacement if he did not get the job done this off season. A back who always seemed to go forward for a few yards. And you are correct in they want someone to be able to take Achane’s spot as a breather of if he is banged up with little drop off. As i keep telling people, as a running team you have to have numerous good backs to get the job done. Sure they will have the scouts looking at other teams running backs on cutdown day. There will be lots of talent other teams will be trying to get on to there practice squads ! Miami might just get one and cut one of ours if they do not get it done, we shall see.
StanleyDoyle1 is excited to see what the 4th-round linebacker brings to the table.
I’m very interested in why Kyle Louis can do. From reports, he’s got a high IQ, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him starting at safety by late October.
Dolfanjoe went with Willis, hoping, like all of us, that he is one of those breakout players in the NFL this coming season.
Malik Willis although not a surprise player, but he may be so underrated right now we have no idea what he can be. We are supposed to be a dumpster fire and of course it cant really be argued. The thing is how many first downs will Willis be responsible for each game ? How many times will his legs extend our offense having the ball ? How rested can our young defense be when they do have to get on the field. So yes in a sense he is a Sleeper. He could suck or could be a game changer. Tua was a great timing passer, and may still be. But he did not have a run game to go with it. Tua especially when he put on weight to handle more punishment looked so slow it was ugly. Willis will get those two yards and extend the play and time of possession. Big pounding offensive line. Ollie Gordon punishing defensive backs and then having to chase Achane all over the field. Our new QB may just surprise the league with wins and running an offense that is not supposed to work ! He is the sleeper !
TheRoo1 thinks that it might be Storm Duck, which would be awesome as it’s clearly a position of need.
Oldarmyguy hopes that the success that Burns had in the UFL and at LSU will translate to the NFL.
Major Burns for me. Regardless of the snide remarks about his name (and I’m old enough to remember the bundling surgeon from MAS*H) he had some great stats from UFL,which is not I admit the NFL. But he had a good career at LSU which always has a stout defense
UpInPensacola has high hopes for the third-round tight end.
tvegas897 hopes that the second-year UDFA WR has a breakout season, which would be awesome given how thin this roster is at that position.
I’m hoping it will be Theo Wease. Just because I love saying go Weaszy everytime he’s on the field!
Phoenix6 has a list of guys who he hopes work out better than expected. Let’s hope he’s spot on with every one of these because this roster needs every infusion of talent it can find.

– Max Llewellyn, EDGE, 7th rd.
— Mark Gronowski, QB (Iowa) UDFA.
— Mason Reiger, EDGE (Wisconsin) UDFA.
And you also believe could be a solid contributor during the season that no one else is currently talking about or writing stories about, and why?
– Llewellyn has promise, 45 QB pressures last year. Amazing spin move. High motor. Prolly goes PS.
— Gronowski; I think he beats out Cam Miller & ends up as the 3rd QB.
— Reiger was 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl Defensive MVP. He was projected a 5th or 6th rounder.
Every year, there seems to be a breakout undrafted free agent signing that makes the Dolphins roster. This year, with the team in rebuild mode, there may be more than one UDFA who finds himself on the 53-man roster in Week 1. Reiger could absolutely be one of those players.
MIAMI235 thinks it comes down to one of the two kickers.
Don’t laugh, but maybe Patterson and Gonzalez competition.
One of those guys may be making a big impact in more than a few games.
SuperG! in response to MIAMI235 believes that the kicking competition, at least at this point, is even.
That’s a real good one. That’s pretty much 50 50 right now. Gonzalez had a better career than Patterson but Patterson hit 93% of his FGs for the Dolphins. He was better than anyone expected him to be.
I, of course, wish we had more responses, but the few that we got were solid. Hopefully we have a slew of guys that “break out” this coming season because this roster needs it.
