On the two-month anniversary of the death of his father, racing legend Kyle Busch, Brexton Busch was involved in a multi-car crash in Charlotte, N.C..
Brexton, 11, was not seriously injured in the accident, which happened in the Summer Shootout Young Lions feature race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, July 21.

“Brex ended up wrecking out after a hard hit last night but thankfully he’s all good today,” Samantha Busch, Brexton’s mom, wrote in her Instagram Stories a day later. “He will be back on dirt tonight. Tried to tell him to take the day off and rest to which I got an 🙄.”
Samantha shared a clip of the accident, in which Brexton’s car collided with the car in front of him. The crash created a chain reaction in which his vehicle was struck multiple times. Brexton had to be removed from the vehicle.

According to a commenter on the video, the speedway went “dead silent” as the young racer was taken out of the car.

For Brexton, the crash came days after he won his first race following the death of his dad on May 21. Kyle Busch died at age 41 after he was hospitalized with severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.
On Friday, July 17, Brexton earned what his mom described as “his first win since Kyle’s passing.”
Brexton competed in his dad’s No. 18 car in multiple divisions at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla., and he won in the restricted micro sprint class, according to Motorsport.
After the win, Samantha proudly posted about her son’s success on Instagram.

“One racetrack to the next,” she wrote. “It’s where so many of our family’s best memories were made and where we’ll keep making new ones together. 💚🧡🏁”
