With only three weeks left until the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin, many PGA Tour players have work to do if they want to play golf in the postseason.
Only the top 70 will make it to the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, the first playoff event. After that, the top 50 make the BMW Championship while the top 30 will advance to East Lake for the Tour Championship.

With only three weeks left to earn points, there are numerous stars outside of the top 70, including major champions, PGA Tour tournament winners and more.
Here’s a look at some notable players who are on the bubble of the FedEx Cup Playoffs (see the full standings) ahead of the 3M Open:

Johnny Keefer

Keefer, the reigning Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year, has been playing his best golf as of late but sits 71st in the standings. He has a pair of T-3 finishes, including two weeks ago at the Genesis Scottish Open, and that moved him up 13 spots in the rankings.

Jason Day

Day has slowly slid down the standings since a T-12 finish at the Masters. He has played only four times the last two months, finishing a tournament only once with a T-55 finish at the Travelers. A back injury forced him to WD from the U.S. Open, and if that issue lingers, it could prevent the Aussie from making the playoffs.
Keegan Bradley

The 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain sits 73rd in the standings and has made 14 of 18 cuts this year, but he hasn’t finished inside of the top 10. Bradley has made 12 of his past 13 cuts but will need to have a couple better finishes down the stretch.

Brian Harman

The 2023 Open champion missed the cut at Royal Birkdale, but he has had a similar season to Bradley: consistent but not strong enough to earn points. Harman is 74th in points with three events left but will need to likely have his first top-10 finish of the season (or multiple) to make it to Memphis.
Brooks Koepka

Koepka’s best finish since returning to the PGA Tour was T-9 at the Cognizant Classic, but he has hardly played the last two months. Since WD from the RBC Canadian Open with a wrist injury, Koepka has missed the cut in two of his past three starts but did place T-28 at the Open. He’s 82nd in points and not in the field at the 3M but will play next week in Detroit.

Tony Finau

The six-time PGA Tour winner has only one top-10 finish this season and hasn’t won since the 2023 Mexico Open. Finau, now 36, seems to be slowly fading from the prime of his career, as he is less frequently found at the top of leaderboard from week to week compared to five years ago. The past 3M champion is 83rd in the standings with three weeks to go.
Lucas Glover

Glover, 86th in the FEC, went on a crazy run three years ago, winning the Wyndham Championship then the FedEx St. Jude Championship in consecutive weeks to go from outside the playoffs to make the Tour Championship. He has a pair of top-five finishes his last two starts but will need more magic to make the postseason.

Marco Penge

Penge’s transition to the PGA Tour has been tough. He dealt with a sickness, his wife gave birth to their second child and then he took a month off for a mental health break. He hasn’t quite been able to find his groove in the USA, but perhaps he can figure it out with three weeks to go. He’s currently 98th in the points.
Billy Horschel

The eight-time PGA Tour winner has missed six of his past eight cuts and sits 101st in the standings. If Horschel wants to make the postseason, he’s going to have to likely hoist a trophy to make that happen.
