Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …

PFF Quarterback Rankings: All 32 starters ahead of the 2026 NFL season – PFF
15) JALEN HURTS. Hurts posted a top-12 PFF passing grade for the fourth consecutive season, yet there are times when he doesn’t look like an elite quarterback. On the positive side, Hurts threw just six interceptions all season, four of which came in a Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. That wasn’t driven by good fortune, either, as Hurts’ 2.0% turnover-worthy play rate tied for the fourth-lowest mark among qualifying quarterbacks. At times, Hurts simply refuses to throw over the middle of the field. His 135 attempts between the numbers during the 2025 regular season ranked 23rd in the NFL, fewer than Joe Flacco, Daniel Jones and Geno Smith. He also averaged just 4.0 yards per carry while earning a 71.6 PFF rushing grade. Both marks were the second-lowest of his career.

ESPN gives the Eagles the best offseason grade of any NFL team – BGN
Ultimately, I’m a little surprised the Eagles finished in the top spot. I don’t think they had a terrible offseason by any means; they made some moves to be excited about. But losing both A.J. Brown and Jeff Stoutland is hardly insignificant. In previous years, we all would’ve had those two guys among the top reasons for optimism about the team. The Eagles are also putting a lot of eggs in the Mannion basket, which may or may not work out.

Offseason grades for every NFC team: Cowboys, Giants, Rams earn high marks – NFL.com
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman runs one of the most consistently successful teams in the league, so it’s possible this offseason will look better as time goes by. But parting with Brown, Phillips and LB Nakobe Dean, among others, could hurt. Philly did acquire OLB Jonathan Greenard and signed OLB A.J. Epenesa to fortify the pass rush, and also signed the boom-or-bust Woolen to bolster the secondary. Of course, before trading Brown, they jumped the Steelers to draft WR Makai Lemon and picked up TE Eli Stowers in the second round. The offense might look different in 2026, which could be a good thing after last season’s inconsistencies. But it’s a lot of change for a team that’s won at least 11 games in each of the last four years. Roseman’s track record earns the benefit of the doubt and a respectable grade.

Things to watch for at Eagles training camp: Wide receiver edition – PhillyVoice
The Eagles signed Marquise “Hollywood” Brown this offseason. Like Wicks above, we published a film review of Brown’s game. Brown ran a 4.27 40 time at his pro day in 2019, and is a player known for his speed, however, he has averaged just 11.6 yards per catch over his career. Still, the Eagles view him as a down-the-field threat. After watching all of his targets in 2025, I concluded that Brown’s average yards per catch were affected by a Chiefs offense that has become increasingly dink and dunk over the last few years, as opposing defenses have sought to keep everything underneath and make them drive the field. Brown made a lot of catches immediately after the snap near the line of scrimmage, which obviously hurt those numbers. It certainly didn’t help when the Chiefs lost Patrick Mahomes with a torn ACL at the end of their miserable season, and Brown was trying to catch passes from Gardner Minshew, Chris Oladokun, and Shane Buechele.

Punting is Okay – Iggles Blitz
BLG and Jimmy Bama didn’t like the comment. I had no issue with it. Sirianni isn’t saying he wants to punt. Go score a TD. If you can’t do that, kick a FG. If you can’t do that you have three options…a turnover, turnover on downs or punt. Coaches don’t want to turn the ball over so they want the offense to know that punting is okay. Not preferred, obviously, but it is acceptable. Coaches have been obsessed with avoiding turnovers since football began. Legendary coach John Heisman has the greatest quote on the subject.

NFC East: Can Cowboys, Giants or Commanders unseat Eagles? – ESPN
Who wins the NFC East in 2026, from each reporter’s perspective? The Eagles’ overhaul on offense will certainly add some much-needed flavor and should lead to more receivers being schemed open and more lanes for Barkley to barrel through over time. There could also be some significant growing pains, seeing as it can take players a full season to acclimate to a new system. Can the defense carry the day as the offense acclimates? The Cowboys’ offense looks ready to roll and, as the Eagles know, their new defensive coordinator, Parker, has a chance to be special. The Cowboys’ defense has some adapting to do of its own, but this feels like a season where Philly could take a step back while Dallas hits its stride.

Eagles 2026 most important list: Cam Jurgens – NBCSP
Eagles center Cam Jurgens was named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl in 2025 but he clearly wasn’t the same player. The 26-year-old battled through injuries last season and they took their toll. So after last season ended with a disappointing loss in the wild card round, Jurgens (and left guard Landon Dickerson) went to Colombia for stem cell therapy. And a few months later, Jurgens said he felt much better. “Stem cells have been going on for a long time now,” Jurgens said. “I’m not the first one, won’t be the last one. Just a lot of good cases of people going down there and saying it helps me heal. It’s going to help you get into a better position. We’re paid a lot of money to do our job and we have to use all the resources we can.”

Anchorage’s Chris Kuper brings passion for coaching to Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive line – Anchorage Daily News
During his playing days, he witnessed the long hours, sometimes sleepless nights and copious amounts of grunt work NFL assistant coaches had to endure, and he was certain that wouldn’t be his preferred post-playing career of choice. “They sleep in the building, they’ve got to do everything to get the offense and defense prepared for practice, playbook stuff, so it’s a lot of hours,” Kuper said in a recent interview while he was in Anchorage for the Alaska Solstice Football Camp. “I would look at them and laugh, asking, ‘Why are you guys doing this?’ and now I’m the dumbass doing it.”

Clint Hurtt discusses Uar Bernard and the talented defensive line unit – PhiladelphiaEagles.com
And then there is the rawest of the raw: Seventh-round draft pick Uar Bernard, a 6-4, 306-pound talent from Nigeria who had never put on a football helmet prior to his first day on the field in South Philadelphia. Coaches love working with talent, no matter how unrefined. Hurtt has his prime project on hand after, as Hurtt admitted, not-so-gently reminding Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman how much he liked the idea of working with Bernard, should the Eagles have a chance to draft him. “I believe in young people.I believe in players and obviously giving the very best of myself to them,” Hurtt said.”And it starts, though, like I’m not putting my stamp on everybody. If you don’t have a great work ethic,if I don’t believe in your character and who you are as a person,I’m not putting my family’s well-being in anybody’s hands. But when I saw the kid’s work ethic and character, like, great. He’s an unbelievable human being. I felt good about doing that.”

Cowboys predictions that feel bold now, but won’t be later – Blogging The Boys
This one may be me trying to manifest more than any other. Shavon Revel entered a really volatile situation from an overall perspective last year. He was a highly-touted draft prospect, but given that he was coming off of a torn ACL and that dampened his overall ceiling for his rookie year. Factor in that the Cowboys were still going at things with Trevon Diggs as a part of their plan in the secondary, and that the defense as a whole was so poorly constructed, it was difficult for anybody to properly thrive. An argument can be made that time has allowed for a proper settling for Revel in general, but that the Cowboys doing so as a unit has been helpful in parallel. This is the time when Revel has to remind everyone why there was such high belief around him last year. He is going to have every opportunity in the world to earn a starting job, and you could argue that the only real player ahead of him in the cornerback room at large is DaRon Bland which is a shaky proposition in its own right. Again, this is something that kind of has to happen for the Cowboys to take the next step. It just feels like it might off of the number of opportunities alone.

Commanders roster rankings: Tress Way among those just outside top 10 – Hogs Haven
RT Josh Conerly. The first-round NFL draft pick had a rough start to his rookie season in 2025. Early on, in particular, he faced some tough competition that sent his stats into unwelcome territory, with a 9.9% allowed pressure rate per NFL Next Gen Stats, one of the 10 worst among NFL tackles. The eye test showed improvement as the year went on, and there’s real belief that the Oregon product has improved immensely this offseason. There’s no doubting Conerly’s talent or drive. His development, however, must continue.

What do advanced stats tell us about Jaxson Dart’s rookie season passing? – Big Blue View
Dart was a polarizing figure among NFL experts as a rookie. Forgetting about the legitimate concerns about Dart’s shelf life given his recklessness as a runner, the question entering his second year is whether he can eventually join the ranks of the elite passers. The stats and rankings above show why he’s so polarizing. He does some things well and some things poorly. Purely as a passer, right now he is either middle of the pack or near the bottom depending on which metrics you choose to emphasize. Clearly he needs to recognize pressure and exploit it with his arm more often. He needs to be more accurate with his deep ball, especially to the left side. He may well see more 2-deep zones and will have to become adept at making defenses pay in those situations. He’ll have to get off his first read more quickly and exloit open second or third reads. Obviously it will help if he has a decent receiving corps. There’s enough there in his rookie performance, though, to make you think it’s possible.

The Jaylen Brown trade makes a lot of sense for the Sixers. I can’t bring myself to like it – Liberty Ballers
Since I’ve had the pleasure of covering games and being around the team for this illustrious blog, I’ve felt proud in my ability to divorce myself from the fandom of the team I grew up with. It’s been easier than I thought it would be to leave those feelings at the door, and that’s only gotten easier over the course of five seasons. The Sixers trading for Jaylen Brown somehow invoked an extremely negative response that can only be attributed to an irrational fan. The more time that’s passed since Shams Charania broke the news, I’ve come back to Earth a bit, but the vibes of this trade reeks to me in a way I haven’t been able to get over.

The Celtics’ Jaylen Brown trade actually makes sense – SB Nation
In the end, Brown’s contract may just be too expensive. Paying for past performance is the recipe for NBA disaster, especially in the most restrictive financial ecosystem the league has ever had. It is a bold statement, one I’m not necessarily sure I would make myself, but if Boston had truly decided that Brown was blocking their ability to build a winning team, trading him for the best offer they had, however insultingly low, makes rational sense.

10-man USA gets Round of 32 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina – Stars And Stripes FC
Bosnia had some chances to score in the final minutes. 10 minutes of stoppage time were added on, and Bosnia had two chances that went just wide in the 8th and 9th minutes of stoppage, before the final whistle blew on a historic USA win. Only the second-ever USA win in a World Cup knockout game (2002 vs Mexico). The third knockout win against a team from Europe. On the round of 16.
