Swansea City have signed Red Bull Salzburg winger Moussa Yeo for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with the Championship club.

Yeo’s move to Wales means a reunion with Swansea head coach Vitor Matos, who had a spell as assistant boss under Pep Lijnders at Salzburg in 2024.

“Moussa is a player who will bring creativity, energy and versatility,” said Matos.

Yeo’s contract includes an option of an additional 12 months, with Matos adding: “He can play more than one position and has good game understanding. I have worked with him before, and I know he will be an exciting player.

“He is a young player, but he has already been exposed to a really good level of football and we are confident he will be able to adapt to the physicality, the intensity and the amount of games in the Championship.”

Mali-born Yeo joined RB Salzburg in 2022. After spending time on loan at FC Liefering, he made his senior Salzburg debut in the Austrian Bundesliga against Hartberg in May 2024.

He scored six goals in 32 appearances during his first full campaign in the club’s first team in 2024-25.

Yeo featured 30 times across all competitions for the club last season and scored two goals, one of which came in a 3-2 Europa League loss to Aston Villa in January.

Matos has been eager to bolster his wide options at Swansea following the departures of loan players Manuel Benson, who left in January, and Gustavo Nunes.

Yeo joins the likes of Ronald, Eom Jisung and Zeidane Inoussa as frontline options at the Swansea.com Stadium as things stand.

Swansea also have Cameron Congreve and Florian Bianchini back at their disposal after loan spells elsewhere, while Melker Widell, Leo Walta and Ollie Cooper are capable of playing on the flanks.

“He is a player who can help us to improve in an area of the pitch where we wanted to take a next step,” said Matos.

Yeo follows centre-back Stephen Welsh in joining Swansea this summer, while Leo Walta’s permanent move to Wales has also been finalised.
