Scottie Scheffler was clearly frustrated with another close call at winning ― especially in a major championship.

But his tie for fourth in the U.S. Open on June 21 at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club pushed him back into first place on the PGA Tour money list, if it’s any consolation.

Scheffler earned $920,882 and now has nearly $13 million in earnings for the season. He overtook Matt Fitzpatrick (who finished 22nd), who is now $606,966 behind Scheffler as they both enter the final signature event of the PGA Tour season this week at The Travelers, which has a $20 million purse and $3.6 million for the winner.

Wyndham Clark’s victory and $4.5 million first-place check sent him soaring up the money list to fourth with more than $8.9 million, behind Cameron Young (just over $12 million). Before Clark won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on May 21, he had $990,686 in earnings, but has made nearly $8 million with two victories, a tie for 11th and a solo third.

Who joined the Millionaire’s Club?

One of the latest additions to the PGA Tour’s list of players who have earned at least $1 million on the golf course this season was Tom Kim, who was 99th on the list before this week with just over $700,000. Kim finished solo third in the Open for a check of $1,532,530. It was his second top-10 of the season, and he jumped to 54th with more than $2.2 million.

There are now 89 players with $1 million or more in earnings, 58 with $2 million or more, 39 with $3 million or more, 28 with $4 million or more and 18 with $5 million or more.
