After a five year hiatus from the octagon, Conor McGregor is scheduled to make his UFC return next month against former Featherweight Champion Max Holloway. That fight is scheduled for July 11.
McGregor still has two fights remaining on his current contract with the UFC though, and it turns out he already knows when the second fight will be.
Conor McGregor says he has second UFC fight scheduled for April 2027
Apparently, after battling with Holloway next month, McGregor will have to wait until April of 2027 for another fight. It’s safe to say that he’s not particularly happy about the long layoff in between fights, especially since he had to wait a half-decade to fight again after shattering his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
“I have both dates for my fights,” McGregor said. “I have July 11, and when would you think they put me back in? April 2027. It’s almost a year later. That’s ridiculous to me. But this is the way the contract was done. I have a second date in April 2027.”
When it comes to the compensation for his upcoming fight with Holloway, McGregor is satisfied, if not thrilled with the final figure.
“We met in the middle,” McGregor said of his compensation. “We got a juicy one. Was it what my worth is? Probably not. Was it what they wanted to offer? Definitely not. I’m a fair operator.”
After his second fight, McGregor’s contract with UFC will be complete. At that point, he will be free to explore other opportunities in the world of combat sports. But, he would like to continue his career with the organization that helped to turn him into a global superstar.
“I love the Ultimate Fighting Championship and I’d love to continue,” McGregor said. “Let’s see how it goes.”
