The 30th playing of the Wisconsin Women’s Open is being played at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, one of top public golf courses in the state, and the first round saw just one player finish under par on June 15. Hannah Dunk of Janesville shot a 1-under 71 over the 6,046-yard course to finish the day one shot clear of Payton Haugen of Elm Grove.
Dunk, who plays at North Dakota State University, made five birdies against four bogeys on the course that hosted the 2023 U.S. Senior Open. Haugen made three birdies against three bogeys.

Bobbi Stricker, who is a professional, is two shots back and tied with Julia Imai at 1-over par. Stricker tied for 37th at the Texas Women’s Open in late May. Imai plays for UW-Stout and tied Dunk for the most birdies on the day with five.
McKenna Nelson (Beaver Dam) is alone in fifth place at 2-over while Izzi Stricker (Madison), Norah Roberts (Racine), Emma Cunningham (Green Bay), Lola Appleby (Mequon), Rebecca Klongland (Stoughton) and professional Mackenzie Hahn (Spring Grove) are all four shots off the lead at 3-over.
The field will play 18 holes on June 16 and then will be cut to the low 24 scores and ties. The final 18 holes of play will then take place on June 17.
