LIV Golf Korea is the league’s eighth event of 2026. It’s also the seventh played on an international stage, as Asiad Country Club in Busan, South Korea, is the host this week.
And while it’s a new venue and a different country, there’s a familiar name atop the leaderboard: Bryson DeChambeau.
Bryson DeChambeau of Crushers GC plays his tee shot on the first hole during Day 1 of the 2026 LIV Golf Korea event at Asiad Country Club.
After 18 holes of shotgun golf, DeChambeau is among three co-leaders at at 5 under, alongside Charles Howell III and Scott Vincent.

DeChambeau made birdie on six of his first 10 holes but came back to the field with bogeys on Nos. 13 and 15. Following his round, he spoke again of his belief in team golf amid tumultuous times for LIV after the Saudi PIF pulled out of the operation, leaving the league to try to find funds on its own.
“It’s huge. I think people underestimate [team golf] and I think it’s a lot of fun,” he said. “You see a lot of people with Crushers hats out here, Fireballs or 4Aces. It’s a bit underrated and people can say what they want about it but I truly believe in it and I think a lot of us out here do. I really care about the game and where I think it can go.”
DeChambeau’s and Howell’s Crushers also lead the team standings. The Crushers won the Korea event a year ago.
Ian Poulter, Joaquin Niemann and Thomas Pieters are all tied for fourth, a shot back after they each posted 66s.

What’s next for LIV Golf?
After Sunday’s finale in Korea, LIV has two more events abroad, first in Spain and then in London, before three straight in the U.S. at New York, Indianapolis and Michigan. That rounds out the league’s 2026 season, and beyond that, questions remain.
