Crystal Palace will face off against Rayo Vallecano at the Red Bull Arena this Wednesday night as they look to secure a win in the UEFA Conference League final. The Eagles suffered a difficult 2-1 loss at the hands of Arsenal recently, so this would be a good chance for them to end the season on a high by lifting the European trophy in midweek.

Oliver Glasner will set his men up in a 3-4-3 formation and is expected to make a lot of changes to his first team for this game. Hence, Jean-Phillipe Mateta will once again lead the line for the London club up top.

Defence

Dean Henderson will operate in goal for the Eagles after conceding two goals in his last appearance. Glasner could name a back three of Chadi Riad, Maxence Lacroix and Jaydee Canvot for this game. All three of them would try to keep the opposition attackers at bay during the 90 minutes.

Nathaniel Clyne and Jefferson Lerma will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Daichi Kamada and Adam Wharton will anchor the midfield for Crystal Palace as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park and engineer some decent chances in the final third.

Daniel Munoz will try to prove his worth as the right-sided wide player, while Tyrick Mitchell hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left wing-back. Both of them will have to make some overlapping runs out in the wide areas.

Will Hughes and Brennan Johnson will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Yeremy Pino will try to make a difference on the left flank, while Ismaila Sarr looks to cause a lot of headaches for his marker as the right-winger. Both of them will look to get to the byline at every chance they can get.

Jean-Phillipe Mateta will spearhead Glasner’s attack up top. He would be desperate to make a difference for the Eagles by scoring a goal in the final this week.

Evann Guessand will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the latter stages if required.
