It’s time once again to vote for your Athlete of the Week, and we’ve got talented stars from water polo, golf and volleyball to choose from this week.
But before we dive into this week’s accolades, let’s remember who you voted for last week to earn the honor.
You voted and you chose DVL girls’ tennis individual champion Jessica Ramirez of Indio tennis. Ramirez topped her teammate to win the singles title 6-4, 6-0.

Whoever has the most votes at noon on Saturday will be declared the winner.
Hannah Bagnell, La Quinta golf
What she did: Under tough, windy conditions, the Blackhawks golfer fired a 78 in the CIF-SS girls’ golf individual preliminary meet at Bear Valley Golf Club in Victorville to finish in a tie for seventh in the 118-player field. The top 24 players advanced, and she was the only local golfer to do so.
Parker Finnell, Palm Desert water polo
What he did: Finnell came up with the game-winning goal as the Palm Desert Aztecs pulled off a stunner in the Division 5 playoffs, rallying from down 4-1 to tie the game at 7-7 and then win it 8-7 in overtime. Finnell scored the only goal in the six minutes of overtime.
Pedro Lomenha, Palm Springs water polo
What he did: Lomenha lifted the Indians to the third-place spot in the Desert Empire League, leading the way in Palm Springs’ dramatic 16-15 overtime win over Indio at the DEL carousel. Lomenha led Palm Springs with five goals including one of the two overtime goals.
Anahi Moran, Coachella Valley golf
What she did: Moran had the best performance for the Arabs in the Division 5 team CIF-SS qualifier played at Green River Golf Club in Corona. Moran shot a 97 to lead Coachella Valley, which qualified for the event due to their success in Sun Valley League competition.
Faiyth Robinson, Desert Christian Academy volleyball
What she did: The multi-talented Conquerors senior was named the league MVP of the South Valley League. Robinson led Desert Christian Academy to a 15-1 record and a tie for the league title. The team’s 16-4 overall record put them all the way up in the Division 4 playoffs.
